Kristen has been shocking us with many admissions and transformations this year — from her scandalous infidelity to her style evolution, we are finally getting a glimpse of who the once 'closed off' star truly is!
Kristen Stewart sometimes appears awkward — she'll even admit it! It's almost uncomfortable to watch her speak in front of large crowds, and on top of that, hard to grasp the fact that she can preform so well on screen when she seems so shy otherwise. The On The Road actress admits that she shares a lot of the sexual qualities her character MaryLou possesses.
While Kristen, 22, admits that she can find a piece of her inside every one of her characters, including Bella Swan of Twilight, she goes on to tell Kyle Buchanan of Vulture.com that as surprising as it may seem, in her new free-spirit role in On the Road, she has more similarities with her character than not.
Kristen plays MaryLou, a profound literary character from the novel On The Road, who she says had the power to "jump off the page and smack you in the face." To prepare for her role, Kristen met with LuAnne Henderson's daughter (LuAnne being the "real life" MaryLou) to chat and get a glimpse of how she truly was from one of the closest people in her life. She watched endless amounts of interviews LuAnne did to make sure she portrayed the role as best as possible — she ended up not being a far stray away from the way she perceives herself.
When talking about the role Kristen said, "You wouldn't be attracted to a project if you had to fake it," she says. Though MaryLou is more sexually assertive than the other roles Kristen has played, Stewart claims, "I don't feel like I'm stepping outside of myself when I'm playing parts. Even if it's really different from the apparent version of who I am, I'm always somewhere deep in there."
Kristen even admits that she was WAY more comfortable shooting the sex scenes for the film than the dancing scenes. There is not doubt — K-Stew has that little bit of rebel inside her and this role is finally letting that side of her shine through.
